It's (Mostly) His Fault by Robert Mark Alter
A man was riding the subway home from work after a particularly difficult and trying day. Across the aisle from him sat a man whose 4 children were running amok, screaming and hitting each other, throwing things, and disturbing every passenger on the train. After a few minutes of this, the first man could stand it no longer, and got up and walked over to the father, who was sitting in a trance-like daze staring down at his lap. "Do you think you could take a moment off from contemplating your navel and control your kids, buddy?", he said more harshly than he intended. "They're driving everyone crazy!" The man looked up distractedly from his lap. "Oh, I...I'm terribly sorry. I really wasn't paying attention." He paused a long moment, then continued, "We're on our way back from the hospital. My...my wife just died a few hours ago, and I...I don't know what to do next." This story was told to me years ago by someone who was trying to explain to me what a "paradigm shift" was. When you read "It's (Mostly) His fault by Robert Alter, whether you're a man or a woman, your relationship with your spouse will undergo a paradigm shift of such Richter Scale proportions that, like me, you will want to kiss and hug the author for putting to paper what in retrospect is so simple, so no-brainish that you won't believe its THAT uncomplicated. And, this book should be mandatory reading for every human being on the planet with a penis who will in any capacity at any point in his life come into contact with women!! Once you read this book, there's no turning back to the way things were before, because the claim of ignorance will not work anymore. If you only read ONE book in your lifetime (be- sides the Scriptures), make it THIS one. It WILL change you forever. By Rick Black
