Standard screw terminal IEC socket
Both this socket and the companion plug have screw terminals and cannot be soldered. They have the earth (center) terminal very close to the cable clamp, but this is not a serious problem, it just makes it slightly harder to connect the wires. All three terminals are clearly marked.

Expensive, but well worth it!
Had one of these before, but lost it... Perfect for self catering holidays, compact, but holds enough salt & pepper to see you through the week (or two).

Fairy Good?
Previously used container filled with what looks like Fairy Liquid (though this is unverified).
