Barry's Horizon for all of us
From someone who has been in the midst of man as part of nature for a long time as witnessed by his winning of the National Book Award for his title, Arctic Dreams, Barry Lopez has written this sort of autobiography packed with invaluable insights for all of us as a very compelling and fluid read. If someone has any interest in Barry Lopez and his works, this book is probably the most informative and at the same time a good orientation to his ways of knowing.

Education for kids and adults beautifully written and illustrated
There's a critical difference between having lots of money and being rich. For children to get exposed to that difference is quite important in developing reasonable cultural values in a society that can appear to be quite insane. The illustrations are most compelling and complement the story perfectly.

Much needed educational tool to help understand how we got here and where we're going.
The product is a very good supplement to Howard Zinn's masterwork, A Peoples' History of the United States in a format that catches one's attention. As an educational tool, it goes a long way to help unlearn the distortions and appreciate the omissions of what passes for education in this country.
