Not Just Guns
I bought this oil to reduce friction and protect my guns from rust, but my first application was to eliminate squeaking door hinges. I have heavy solid-core interior doors in my house and the hinges have been squeaking since shortly after installing new non-ball bearing ones.
I applied a drop at each load-bearing joint and the squeaking was greatly reduced immediately and completely gone within a couple days. Also, I had noticed that fine rust (or iron dust) was dusting the painted trim opposite the load bearing hinge joints, indicating wear. I am expecting the hard Tungsten Sulfide layer to eliminate/reduce hinge wear and squeaking.
Another plus is that this oil doesn't make a dark mess like Molybdenum Disulfide.
