Great for sewing!

Purchased for cutting fabric. I use it with my Olfa rotary cutter and, so far, haven't noticed any marks being left! The 24" x 36" size in great for me, large enough to just well enough with bigger projects, but still small enough to slide into my closet (it's very sturdy material, don't expect to roll it or fold it to put it away).

Happiness in a machine

As a beginner sewer, I'm unable to compare to other machines, but I am enjoying this one quite a bit. While it's more than I need starting out, I'll be happy to have it when I'm ready to work with heavier fabrics such as canvas or denim. I'm impressed at the ease in which it sews through multiple layers of fabric, it's simple to thread, and I quite like the simplicity of the appearance. I live in a small apartment so both noise and space is a concern. Again, unable to compare to others, but this machine seems surprisingly quiet! The hard case is nice in that it fits snugly over the machine, not adding bulk. I'm looking forward to all the future makes with my Janome HD3000.
