Like buying lens insurance.
I haven't been into photography for long, but something I read when I bought my first camera sticks with me. "Always use a UV filter on your lenses".
Put it on when you buy the lens, take it off to clean it when it's taken the abuse for your lens, and replace as needed.
I have never had a filter save a lens, because I've been lucky so far, but I want one on there incase it does happen.
Tiffens seem to be crystal clear, have a good reputation and don't break the bank.

Great computer overall.
It's a great computer overall. With the i5 and SSD, it's very responsive. It's been a pleasure to use. The touchpad is a little weird, and confuses right and left mouse clicks sometimes. I honestly use the screen to move the cursor, or a bluetooth mouse, so it's not a major thing.
