Bought to use as less expensive, expendable alternative. Much better than expected!
1 of 1 found this helpful We have two Black Diamond Spots that used to be our go-to lights. I bought this set to use for dirty jobs (like oil changes), thinking at half the price of the Spot, who cares? What we found is that we both prefer the Coast light. We prefer the simple interface (one button for red, one for white) and no silly flashing or SOS modes. Another great feature is the adjustable focus. I admired this feature in the much more pricey LED Lenser H7, but I couldn't use the H7 because I work on my back sometimes and the battery pack is behind the head (ouch!). This is not a problem for the Coast light. I am picky about the light quality and the Coast has good CRI and light pattern is very good at various spread (zoom) settings. Bottom line is that we prefer the Coast light to the more expensive, highly rated lights we've used.

My favorite watch yet!
1 of 1 found this helpful I had long admired the Casio Oceanus but never could pull the trigger on a $500 wristwatch for daily wear. I came across this one and it ticked all my checkboxes: 1) sapphire crystal, 2) solar quartz movement (with radio sync a bonus!), 3) elegant, yet simple styling. This watch looks great both day and night. The time is synced perfectly to the atomic clocks at work.
The illumination serves the purpose well. I have moved away from tritium dials due to the short life, and prefer the on-demand LED illumination. I highly recommend this watch, it looks better than the photos can depict.
