No Experience Required - go for it
While I can use almost any tool I have never used a router - though I have had one for a while!..... Scary kit. Using this jig I practiced on some cut offs and following the (non too clear to the uninitiated but re read them a few times) instructions produced professional results in worktop joints. Zero gaps. Perfect fits - though using standard spacing your tie bolts will clash with cabinet walls and or tops so caution there. I carried on using the jig to make super sharp edge radii cuts and most useful real 90°s in shelving and so forth.
The benefit of the router on lower cost worktops is a total absence on melamine chipping.
I have finished my tasks on the utility room build but am now looking to buy a hinge jig for the router
Buy it - worth the money and you'll be pleased with the results.

Top Quality
If you have to use Phillips screws you have to use a good driver - this is one, so many are badly made, soft, wrong angles over hardened - I 'm sure you have used them and damaged screws .
This is one of the best I've found and can recommend.
