Great strings

I keep going back to these. Consistently as close to perfection as you can get for roundwounds. that .50 g string is key to a good sound on a shorty.

Specialized guitar cable wraps

These work great provided your cable is the standard guitar cable diameter, like most are. Thick speaker cables or smaller types of cable they are not suited for. They are specialized just for this purpose so not as versatile (or cheap) as other cable solutions. However, since no Velcro is involved, they won’t be snagging on stuff or picking up fuzz and hair from the floor of clubs or sticking to itself. They do stay put and are a more elegant solution than most others.
