Better than the rest
After some research, picked this charger to tackle some dead batteries. I was hoping it would be able to charge batteries that were ready for proper disposal. The instructions however state that the battery must have .9 V to charge. So using a 1.4 V power source, after 5 minutes, I was able to add enough charge to a dead battery in order for this charger to take over. It has a charge / discharge feature that was able to remove the memory effect and charge the otherwise dead batteries. Time will tell if this is a working solution. Of note, this charger comes with 4 AA batteries. One of them had 0 voltage and could not be charged without the procedure described above...
