1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this same item for my 2006 Ford and it worked extremely well. As a matter of fact it was still working 10 years later when I traded the truck in. It may have been a different dealer but the same make. When I purchased my new truck a 2016 Ford the first thing I bought for it was this same tailgate strut. It worked twice and the third time the tailgate fell down as the lower ball connection popped off. It has popped off several times since then. Now it is to the point where I have to use physical power to hold the tail gate until it is down as it may pop off at anytime.
