A suspenseful journey watching The Prestige
This is a great movie to watch from the beginning to the end. It captures you from the moment you realize there are three parts to a magical act. The whole movie revolves around two magicians, one a great presenter of his art, the other a mediocre magician that outdoes the better performer. But there is a twist. It's the twist that you have no idea is coming. The ending is so powerful, you don't realize what risks the better magician sacrified for his art... or did he. The mediocre magician has still outsmarted the superior one. In the end, it's the Prestige of how the poorer performer out prestiged his superior match. I've watched this movie many times. It still excites the imagination, you can feel the frustration, you can feel their pain, their wanting to outdo eachother and what lengths they both will follow to attain the perfect Prestige. The actors allow you to follow the story, they do not distract you from what is the next scene, the next twist, the next hopeful conclusion. It is very fluid, very complicated, very interesting, and you'll respect their achievements.
