Leaps and bounds superior to the first game!
This game is so much better than the original Rocksmith. The original is (for usage reasons) more like 2-3 stars, even though yes, the learning parts are roughly equivalent in either game. You're still playing guitar or bass along with frets and strings to guide you. It's just that this game is so much more.... friendly and inviting. This actually feels like a single game rather than a bunch of software from a bunch of people thrown together by somebody else. The transitions between practicing parts (which are very selectable for starting and stopping points, not just the section you were on) and playing parts is almost seamless for example. Sorting songs is clear and simple and powerful. The menus are consistent, the sections easy to move to AND back from, plus there is not constant retuning over and over after every little thing. So far, it seems Rocksmith 2014 has fixed every overly annoying thing about Rocksmith, which is like a pre-alpha version of this one. As an example of that, Master Mode gradually just fades out the fretboard, and brings it back if you have problems, rather than just doing what the first game did, giving you a big blank nothing for the entire song, with no images, no tabs, no notes and no potential to learn. I'm sure there's something here to be annoyed with if you've never played the first one though. And for me at least, it's not worth $10 to move the original songs over to this version of the game. I'd just as soon go back and play those songs in the first game. Play them, but that's about it. If I was going to practice the songs from the first game, it might be worth $10 to practice them in this version instead. Although there's enough here to make it rather unnecessary to need to practice any of the original on-disc songs from the first Rocksmith anyway, unless there's some you happen to like them, enough to pay $10 to get them into Rocksmith 2014 to practice. (That doesn't apply to any DLC you have, it all works in Rocksmith 2014 as is, no need to pay anything additional.) This is the game the first one should have been.

Lots of nice changes from the first, some, eh
As with the first, the controls are a bit odd, at least compared to a lot of other games. Most notably the seeming counter-intuitive press versus hold actions of Y, X, RB, and the LT cover actions. And realistic seems more difficult, especially in terrorist hunt, given the odd/inconsistent behaviors and/or sudden spawning of the AI at times. But compared to the first, a lot of nice things so far. Not only can you put your head on a character for multiplayer (via the xbox live camera) but that is also what's used in the regular game. Also in the regular game is experience. That is very nice. The achievements are a mixed bag. Some are basically gimmes that require no effort (5 silenced headshots) others are silly (1000 kills in multiplayer with at least 6 people playing) and/or would probably require boosting (5 consecutive kills without dying and without respawns). I'm imagining there's still people playing it, but what about in a year or two? A lot of games suffer from this problem. Especially music games. But that doesn't excuse it! *wink* All in all, if you liked the first game, you'll like this one, and if you hated the first one, you'll hate this too. Although it does look nicer, I think, it's got the same feel to it; the slightly wooden other characters, the at times incredibly stupid and annoying teammates, enemies that are made "more realistic" by making them behave randomly and bizarrely. But not exactly "just more of the same".
Furinno 10004EX/BR End Table/Night Stand Storage Shelf with Bin Drawer, Dark New

    How Cute!
Easy to put together* and about the same quality as anything like it** this end table is a great value***. The drawer**** is cute as can be, it's a fabric box***** that folds open slides into****** the top shelf*******. Highly recommended if you need a small end table. * The instructions are like most for these things, overly complicated to read because of what it's trying to explain. If you are familiar with putting together particle board furniture, looking at the five pieces of wood, four posts & turners, four screws, and four plastic sliders is probably enough. ** It's about what you'd expect for this type of furniture. *** Especially at $15 or so. **** If you can call it that. ***** No really it's a box. ****** Or out of. Or through. ******* It just sits on the under shelf, it doesn't attach or anything. You could probably put it on the bottom shelf too, but it might look weird.
