Fantastic, the best of the post "Beach Boys" groups
This CD by Al Jardine and the "family and friends" is exactly the album that Beach Boys fans wished the group would have put out. This is a no nonsense, top notch effort full of outstanding musicianship and wonderful song selections. Here you have original BB Al Jardine and his sons Matt and Adam, Brian Wilson's daughters Wendy and Carnie, former BB touring band members Billy Hinsche, Bobby Figeroa, Ed Carter and Ritchie Cannatta in the A+ band. I can't say enough great things about this album other then the production is great, vocals are TIGHT, musicianship is A+, great song choices (Breakaway?!?!) and overall it has a great uptempo vibe. As mentioned before, this is EXACTLY the album we die hard Beach Boys fans would have loved to see "The Beach Boys" release - well, this is the next best thing. BUY IT!

Dick Dale's BEST work in years
Some call him the "king of the surf guitar" while others refer to him as "the father of heavy metal" - no matter the title, Dick Dale is a wonderful musician and a true guitar virtuoso. On "Spatial Disorientation" Dick has put together a disc that really allows him to step outside the theme of his last few CD's (staggering uptempo shredding). Here we get the pleasure of hearing Dick sing and play some wonderful slower and acoustic gems. You will still get the full throttle in your face cuts like "HFMIC" but what I found to be incredible were the two versions of the BEAUTIFUL "Belo Horizonte" and the acoustic version of Haji. Incredible playing and something most may not expect from Dick. Also of note is the lovely version Dick gives us of the traditional Christmas Carol, "Silent Night." All in all this is a WONDERFUL CD that will please both new and old "Dickheads."
