It is possible to install on a truck with running boards (with a little modifying)
I was able to install these on a 2014 ford f-150 with running boards thanks to Kathy "Rears installed easily & quickly. The fronts I did a test fit & marked the area that interfered with the running boards. Then I got out my heat gun, & slowly, evenly on the low heat setting, heated the flap & pressed it into place. I held it there until it cooled some, & it formed right around the end of the running board like it was supposed to fit that way." ~ Kathy
Tips: Heat the area until it turns darker and shiny looking. If you have a buddy, one can press & hold it in place and to quicken the cooling process you can hold a can of air duster upside down.

Easy to use and tension is set just right from the factory. I like the quick release jaws.
