The film is excellent,it portrays a man trying his upmost to get a command of his own anywhere in WW2.His character,attitude and way of doing things and the way he says things, does not go down well with his fellow officers or the big wigs in charge, so he gets himself in trouble, so in the end things do not pan out as he wants.If you enjoy war films this is a must (1) it is about a real person,(2)the acting is great, George.c.SCOTT is ideal in this role,(3)you can really feel for the guy even when he becomes his own worst enemy.Its a long film but well worth a view.Don't expect loads of action though,this is mainly the history of an american General rather than a "Saving Private Ryan" Enjoy.
