Essential Will Downing release, GREAT chemistry with legendary smooth jazz reedman Gerald Albright on this special project.
1998's 'Pleasures Of The Night' is basically Will Downing in his natural element, 'nuff said! Gerald's signature sax stylings merely the smooth jazz "cherry" on top. Rest of the band's in top form as well. If you're new to Downing, you MUST add this one to your collection (along with the rest of his most essential albums). My 2nd-favorite album of his behind his 1991 breakthrough 'A Dream Fulfilled', just never loses its flavor no matter how many times I spin it!

Japan-exclusive bonus track makes this Incognito CD absolutely essential for longtime fans
Japan CD is the one to get regarding this particular Incognito album. Exclusive bonus track (Liberation Groove) is one of the best instrumentals ever laid down on tape by Bluey's band of merry musicians and certainly worth paying the import price for.

Roachford's best '90s effort hands-down, should've made them big-time global stars looking back.
All Andrew Roachford and his band needed at the time was for one of those two singles to break (Only To Be With You and Lay Your Love On Me) whether on a blockbuster film soundtrack or an episode of a highly-rated TV show here in the States. If that had happened as it should have back then, CD copies of this album wouldn't be languishing in clearance bins still like where I've found mine several years ago. At least Australia knew what an absolute gem 'Permanent Shade Of Blue' was that '94 year (went 2x Platinum down there, not bad at all). Too bad Andrew's former Sony UK label didn't bother much with it, makes me wonder just what the heck they were so preoccupied with as to totally pass up on promoting this bonafide masterpiece of contemporary Pop/Soul. Guess we'll never truly know, sheesh...
