Great idea; too bad its not reliable.
I bought one of these to just to see how well they work. This unit is held against the switch plate with two strong magnets at the mounting plate screws. There is a motorized actuator that travels up and down to actuate the switch. The problem is that after the actuator moved the switch did not fully move enough to toggle or Switchmate was pushed away from switch. I tried 3 different wall switches and only one worked reliably. The problem may be that my wall switches need to b aligned or shimmed to work properly. But who is going to do that?

There are better machines available.
1 of 2 found this helpful There are a number of machines that have more features that cost just a few dollars more. Here are some of the shortcomings I found. The table tilt is not easily adjusted without a socket wrench and has no detent to return it to 0 degrees. Table height does not have an adjustment crank. You simply loosen the table clamp and slide the table up and down the column by hand. The depth stop is probably the worst feature on this machine. It consists of a threaded bolt and nut attached to the drill chuck by a plastic clamp. This set setup deflects easily so that your never quite sure how far you have drilled. If your looking for a low cost machine then this will fit the bill. But for a just a few dollars more you can find machines that have more features and that you will be happy with and not disappointed in your purchase.
