Great sharp, good-sized fast telephoto lens
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought Canon 200 2.8L II because I wanted better telephoto lens for my Canon 60D camera.
I like: Size, Weight, Autofocus, Picture quality, 2.8 aperture.
I don't like: Old lens design from 1996 made for film cameras, Could be sharper wide open, IS could be helpful for such telephoto lens.
Overall: One of the best lens I ever had, could be better only if Canon redesign it and add IS, but after 70-200 IS II release I think they won't update 200 2.8L.

Very useful lens, great value and performance.
2 of 3 found this helpful I tried Canon 100L macro few months ago and I really like it - new macro lenses with faster focus can be used for many other photography genres.
I saw some good reviews of the new Sigma 105 Macro, but the price was almost the same as Canon's L. There was a big price drop in December, so I decided to give a try.
I'm really impressed by the build quality and performance of the lens. The lens have very pleasant creamy bokeh wide open and gets very sharp from F4. 3-steps focus limiter is very useful - you can just skip macro focus distance and it becomes very nice short telephoto lens. It's hard to point something that I don't like, maybe the OS and focus limiter switches are not very comfortable to use.
The focus is a little slower than Canon equivalent, but overall the lenses are very close. With Sigma you can also use Canon's 1.4 extender (you can't mount it on Canon 100L). You can't beat this Sigma for the price and features at this point.
P.S. The Ebay picture now shows OLD non-OS Sigma 105 macro.

Great fit and good value.
This is a well made lens hood. A perfect fit for my RF85 2.0 lens, I would recommend it.
