Lightweight chassis with solid improvements
VBC created an outstanding chassis with the FX18. Handling is better with the changes to the mid section suspension from FXM to FX18. The car is great on pavement but seems made for carpet. Well worth the money.
One drawback is the new pivot. It's a great new feature but it's slightly too tall and limits the amount of room you have to move the motor to get the right pinion gear. For me I had to put a 93t spur on the car. That being said, everyone's gear requirements are different so this may not affect others. Despite this "issue" I would buy another, it's that good.

Overall a good product, just a bit less durable than expected.
The output shaft bent on my 2nd heat. No crash and I did not 'pancake" the barrier. I hopped the car over a dome on track (realistically the car got about 4" into the air). It landed on the right tires before laying flat on all 4. When I brought it to the bench, the output shaft was bent. I bent it true by putting it into a vise. So, quality of the shaft is garbage, in my opinion. That should not have happened so easily. However, if you keep it on all 4 wheels, the gear drive is night and day over a ball diff. Handling noticeably improves, as does consistent rear grip. And for F1, grid starts with a gear drive are a huge difference. You can get harder into the throttle, faster than you could with a ball diff as there is no slip and no squirly rear end.
Also, the left side hub Xray brand is $30. Buy a Yokomo for $10. That's what I did. Xray's a bit proud of their stuff and that's a joke.
The GEAR drive though, seems very strong. I saw no tooth damage from the hop incident. Overall, I am saying this Xray gear diff, is worth buying as it will make you a better driver. I just think that output shaft is an issue and should be more durable than it seems to be. I can't give it a 4 star if 4 star means better than expected. I think it's better than 3 stars, but I can't say it's better than expected.

My only complaint is the quality of the components by the manufacturer.

Good bag but not worth the price
It's not "junk" but it's not $30 worth either. The inserts aren't good. The bag itself is a high quality material with nice firm stitching. Maybe worth $30 by itself. The box inside that creates the dividers is not good. But, that's all my opinion. I'm not saying buy it or don't buy it, I'm saying, this is what I found to be true in my case, and you can decide if you want to take the gamble. I was keeping my oils in a $15 airtight kitchen container about the same size as this bag. In all honesty, that solution was just fine compared to this bag. Same amount of space in my overall gear.
