    About

I am an industrial electrician and electronics engineer who is interested in rebuilding/restoring and fabricating all types of electronic equipment. My specialty is in vintage electronics, particularly those employing vacuum tubes. I also build modern equipment based on vintage technology. Audio amplifiers, pre-amplifiers, receivers, tuners, transmitters and electro-mechanical devices are a few of things that peak my curiosity. Designs that I take a particular interest in and possess an intimate knowledge of include H.H. Scott tube amplifier and tuner designs, Bozak loudspeakers and Coral loudspeakers. To date, I have rebuilt 2,250 vintage pieces from the likes of Altec, Bell, Bogen, Dynaco, DuKane, Eico, Heath,Pilot, Fisher, H.H. Scott, Marantz, McIntosh, Sherwood and Voice of Music, to name a few.

HiFi Class A Stereo Preamp 4-Way IN Lossless Audio Pre-Amplifier w/Tone Control
    Nov 21, 2022
One of the few preamps on the market today that actually deserves your hard-earned money...
I stumbled upon this pre-amplifier by pure chance whilst searching eBay. My item arrived with a broken tone control defeat switch, which I easily replaced and received a credit for. The build quality and clean, symmetrical layout reminds me of designs from the 1970's, with the axial-lead components, large transistor heatsinks and op-amp sockets. The sound quality is absolutely phenomenal, and the tone control stage can be custom-tailored to your liking, or it can be bypassed entirely for the purist. There is simply no other competing preamp at this price point that is anywhere near the quality of this unit,, and it will destroy anything in the sub-$1500 price class for solid-state preamps., Very impressive product by Douk Audio and highly recommended. Compatible with new or old, home, studio or commercial. Drives Crown, Peavey, QSC amplifiers with ease. Phase Linear 400? Not a problem. McIntosh MC-30's or a Marantz 8B? Works great. Pairs with just about anything.

4 DS18 RCA1M2F RCA Splitter 1 Male to 2 Female Y Connector Car Home Audio Cables
    Jul 13, 2023
    Unshielded Cable...
This cable utilizes a twisted pair of conductors with no foil or braided shielding. As a result, the cable is easily susceptible to EMI/RFI interference and audible hum, making this product unsuitable for audio use.
Case of 12 4 pack GE 60w Soft White Bulbs A19 incandescent 48 bulbs total
    Aug 04, 2023
These are NOT incandescent light bulbs!
Note that these are not true 60W incandescent bulbs. Rather, these bulbs contain a 43W Halogen capsule instead of a filament, making them Halogen (and not incandescent) bulbs. This limits their usefulness and lifespan, and they should not be used in recessed or sealed enclosures due to heat concerns and the risk of rupture. Halogen bulbs operate much hotter than a typical incandescent, CFL or LED bulb. These bulbs are also unsuitable for use in older home fixtures where the house wiring is rated at 60 degrees Celsius (rather than the modern 90 degree requirement). This increases the risk of insulation breakdown due to heat exposure and presents a significant fire hazard.
