1 of 1 found this helpful For me, the E series Curados are the finest baitcasters Shimano has ever made, even better than the Calcuttas. The 300 size is no exception.

Good value
I bought this as a present for my wife, to replace a 20 year-old Shimano. I am not usually impressed with mid-price reels, but am with this Battle II 2500. I was especially surprised with how evenly the line laid on the spool. It operates smoothly and feels solid and sturdy, and the drag is smooth as silk. Time will tell how durable it proves to be. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars, is that I was under the impression that Penn reels were "made in America", and I find out they no longer are.....unfortunate!!!
