Professional Camera
2 of 2 found this helpful I went from a Nikon D70 to the D300. I was looking for a step up and really wanted a larger LCD. On the D70 I often found a disconnect between how photos looked on the LCD and how they looked when downloaded and viewed on my Mac. The larger LCD on the D300 gives me a clearer image where I can see imperfections in the shot.
The only challenge I face with the D300 is having to know how to set the camera. Professional photographers love the great variety of setting options the D300 includes. However not-quite-professional photographers who enjoy the "auto" setting (included on the D70) may find the complexity of the D300 a bit daunting. This is by no means a drawback to the camera, but a user issue.
I've had the D300 only a couple of months but am looking forward to exploring all it has to offer. For professional photographer wannabes, this is a must have!

Great basic lens
I purchased a Nikon D300 with an 18-135mm lens but wanted a basic 50mm lens for standard shooting. This lens fits the bill.

A Mac for my Dad
I bought this Mac Mini to replace a ten-year-old Mac Mini I bought for my father. The older Mini couldn't handle current website demands. This Mini, with adequate RAM and a large Fusion drive, is more than he needs, but will serve him the rest of his life (he's 98).
