I've never used tyre black before, this stuff peels off easily. Think I'll go back to auto glym tyre gel.

Wicked Edge
This Device is exactly what I needed. I have been able to sharpen quite well freehand on bench stones for a long time now but I have long wanted a device that eliminates difference of angle. This sharpener locks the blade in position time after time so every stroke of the stones are at the same angle. Some knives are hard to keep still in the vice and smaller ones have to be positioned as high in the vice as possible or the stones contact the vice, but for the most part I love this thing.
