Great for tucking that annoying coiled cable

I don't know why I didn't get this thing years ago instead of putting up with that annoying coiled cable for so long. This thing is a life saver. Pros: 1. I can use "Dark Mode" on my detector now and use this cable which I've mounted just inside my instrument cluster as a visual indicator instead. At night no one outside my car knows it's alerting me. 2. No more coil cable, have I already said that? 3. I get to use my power outlet for other things now like charging my cell. Cons: 1. I did the install myself so I didn't have everything I needed right away which you should know... get a "Add a Fuse" and know your fuse block location and layout. Know if you need an ATG, ATM, ATC fuse and which location has ignition sense on it. 2. Routing the power cable was a pain and I had to drill a hole in my precious dash to mount it. I was careful and it looks good but I've done this before. A pro doesn't care like you will and if you're not a pro you won't have the experience to do it well enough your first time so you really need a plan. 3. and this is the big one, the connector cable to the detector is nice and long, but the supply cable to the fuse block is actually really short so you're limited on where it can go. Conclusion: do your research on where you want it to go and plan ahead. You'll be glad you did.

Awesome universal joint ball socket mount

By far the best ball socket mount built to last. It has an Aluminum ball and an Aluminum socket so it won't wear out like the rubber ones. You would think this wouldn't grip but it does very well. The nice part is that you can completely remove half of the socket so that you can pull out the ball joint if you want to use it as an easy swap location if you have multiple heads instead of the gopro foot that has a tendency to break because they're plastic. I'll even swap these in place of the suction cup mounts on my magnetic bases that use ball sockets in their heads so I can use gopro bases instead with THIS as the holder. I get them whenever I can pick one up. FULL Aluminum build, no plastic to break.

More control

I went from the simple 890L to this. The 890L didn't allow me much control but it just worked. It was very simple. This one is more complex which is nice. It allows more links, has more features, saves more devices, etc. I value most that it still has a removable battery, and can be used as an external charger. Con: It hasn't seemed to learn my local towers yet so signal strength isn't caught up to what my 890L was over the last 4 years.
