52MM High Definition 0.43X Wide Angle Lens w/ Macro for Nikon Pentax Canon M
    Feb 23, 2018
    Often overlooked accesory
It's not going to turn your kit zoom into some kind of wonder lens but it works pretty good for what it is intended for. It screws on the front filter ring of your camera to widen the field of view (FOV) and gathers more light as a result. The .43x value means that an 18mm lens will be reduced to 7.74 (about 8mm) and the focal ratio more than halved as well. The caveat is that for already wide lenses such as this it will vignette (make dark round corners) which will limit the usable area after you crop them out. I tried it on a pentax k-50 kit lens and saw little vignetting with the aps-c sensor at 18mm On my Canon eos-M with the 15-45mm zoom and a 49-52mm step ring it vignettes badly at anything less than 20mm. Even with that limitation it is still giving about 10mm f1.5 which is very wide. Distortion is to be expected with simple attachments like this with "coma"(an elongation of the image toward the edges) being the big issue here, some of which can be removed with processing software. Color is decent, though the light meter in the M had a bit of trouble deciding which part of the sunset to destroy first and ended up with the brighter part toward the sun overexposed in most of the images. Granted that is an extreme dynamic for AI to deal with. Be ready to take control of the exposure times if needed. The sunset images were taken hand held with the eos-m set to its internal sunset bashing mode. I got a terrific price on mine from Digital Goja and well worth it. Can't wait to try it on some milkyway shots. Neat toy.
Metal 2" 2 inch SCT Telescope Visual Back adapter schmidt cassegrain NEW!
    Dec 11, 2016
    worked well on my C6
This screws onto the SCT threads and serves as a 2" slip adapter. While it lacks a clamp sleeve at the clamp. the two screws have large heads and are easy to work with. When coupled with a 2" t-adapter and bayonet ring my camera stayed well collimated to the system with no noticeable sag. Using a 2" setup like this let me use 2" telescope filters which I can also use with camera lenses with a 52-48mm stepdown, This cut costs on the expensive UHC and LPC filters and made very wide field shots of dark nebulas and gas available at a very low price. A very affordable nice surprise and welcome addition to my kit.
    Thrustmaster T500 RS Force Wheel with Feedback GT5 / GT6 Gran Turismo 6 (PS3/PC)

Overpriced but worth it for Sim enthusiests.
After playing with a partially crippled t300 for a while I knew I wanted a good wheel and after finding out that the t500 did not use the same trashy little brushless DC motor as the t300 I set out to get one, and finally landed a used servo/wheel only set for 200$, a good deal at the time even for used units. Since then I've been burning up the tracks(just an average player really) on GT6 seasonal events(Pr0metheus) and having a blast with it. It is a very strong wheel with a fairly heavy feel. Turing on the power steering option helps with the fine detail and a test drive in a honda civic proved to feel very much like the real one I drive daily. After nearly removing skin from my hands a few times to prove it would hold up to strong feedback, I turned it down quite a bit to keep the house from coming apart around it. It really is strong and simulates the feel of under damped racing sleds nicely. On the nearly rally level rough Sarthe track in a C class racer results in a serious workout even at reduced settings, which isgreat for diagnosing the weird handling cars, If it's bouncing it's not sticking.(hint: turn the rear camber down to something reasonable) I think the key component is that it hasn't self destructed in the time I've had it, unlike the very broken brushless system in the T300 that won't keep it;s 3 phase timing structure between boots.. Be ready to build a frame though, this won't play well on the coffee table.
