Large and heavy construction.
1 of 1 found this helpful Very heavy weight construction compared to the current Sony or other makes of CD/Cassette boombox per product specifications. Weighs about double that of the current equivalent unit and it includes a active driven Woofer speaker. Much larger than the current unit too. Manual readily available for download from Sony USA web site too, a plus. I have not yet tried using the cassette player or radio but the CD player works great. Built in AC power adapter so no wall wart required for AC wall powered use, one less item to lose.

Dedicated Sony PRS-T3 Lighted Cover
This is a dedicated cover for the Sony PRS-T3 ebook reader ONLY. It clips on the back of the reader in place of the standard cover that comes stock with the reader, the one normally removed to add an expansion memory card, and then replaced. The light is on a flexible top arm which pulls out of the case back and is powered by the reader's internal battery. Same technology as the Kindle lighted cases used on several models prior to screen internal illumination on most current Kindles. Even with the lighted screen case added the Sony PRS-T3 remains about the most compact and lightest 6" screen ebook reader i know of.
Be careful when installing as unless directions are followed and the cover FULLY SEATED on the reader back, the light will NOT WORK CORRECTLY.

A Good Reader But Minimal Sony Support.
The one I bought is NOS so in new condition. Comparable screen to the current Kindle version 8 2016, the cheapest Kindle model. Screen the same DPI. Neither has the back light. Kindle, being newer, has added features but the Sony handles Epub files which are the commonest ebook file format outside the USA and Kindle universe, and is one of the formats available in ebooks from Smashwords and Mobilereads. This reader does have both touchscreen and five hard switches for some tasks which many prefer. Once in a book there is no need to touch the screen to flip pages while reading.
With the latest firmware update, still available, books are still available from the Kobo book store or they can be side loaded from a computer via the USB connection.
