New Wheel Tech Front Hub 32h Grey Road Bicycle MTB Bike QR 100mm OLD
Sep 22, 2020
Wheel Tech Rocks the Front hub, non-disc segment!
While I've heard less than stellar news about Wheel Tech's mountain freehubs with rotors, their older front wheel hubs (non disc) are really nicely made, with an excellent finish and high build quality. Very nicely done! If I'm not mistaken, the Wheel Tech brand actually is made by Joytech, which is a mature, mostly discount player in the bicycle parts arena. However, for their Wheel Tech series, they made some outstanding front hubs for rim brake wheels.
Taya SC-20 Chain Con Link Taya 9s 5/64 Sl/sl Cdof2

Taya master links to the rescue!
Of all the designs available regarding removable chain links, the Taya is the easiest one to use. For people who lack hand/finger strength and dexterity, it may be difficult to separate the more popular style of chain link offered by most other manufacturers. Those links have identical halves that must be pushed together to remove. Some are easier than others. All are difficult for me, given my carpal tunnel syndrome and weakening grip. The Taya SC-20 and its other designs for 7/8 speed and other chains work remarkably well. It's good to keep a link in the frame pack "just in case." The Taya links are also durable. In years of riding, I haven't broken a single one. My only gripe is that these links (esp 9 speed) are becoming difficult to find, and sellers are marking them up substantially (e.g. I just saw an auction for 2 X 9 speed links for $19.00).
Ultracycle Aluminum Mtn Riser Handlebar 25.4Mm Bike
Nov 27, 2020
Great handlebar for a more comfortable ride.
This handlebar is just right. Not too tall, not too short, but just the right height to get older riders like myself riding in a more upright position. I love older steel mountain bikes from the 90's, but dislike the fact that they tend to keep your riding position low and to the front. I used the Ultracycle handlebar to create a more user-friendly riding position, and now love riding on the street more than ever before! Also, the swept back angle of the handlebars makes it easier on the wrists.
