Outstanding Lightweight 1" Impact Wrench
While light weight is the main selling feature perhaps the best design feature is the ergonomic placement of handles and trigger. The shape, angle and feel of the handles and trigger are excellent and overall tool balance is perfect for the operator removing wheel nuts off semi trucks and trailers. And it does so without imposing the typical strain and pain normally associated with operating those heavy, gargantuan 1" impact wrenches found in most tire shops.
As far as working features go, a 6" anvil is standard equipment for extended reach. You get 3 throttle settings in forward and 3 in reverse. As is typical in impact wrenches maximum effective torque is achieved in reverse. The glossy brochure states that up to 1600 lb/ft of torque will be available. The average air consumption rating is 10 CFM @ 90 psi. I use a 1/2" hose and high-flow fittings to maximize output. Light load speeds are super fast, with the wrench spooling up to around 6000 rpm at no-load.
There are 2 air inlet options available, one on the left rear and one on the left side. Both holes are threaded for 1/2" NPT. Use the one you want and plug the other with the included plug. The exhaust port is on the right side of the body, with exhaust directed away from the operator. Noise level is rated at 96 dba but it is not objectionable, even at high rpm.
Overall fit and finish is excellent and it looks really nice. Impact wrenches live in a rough environment and tend to get dropped and banged around a lot. To counter that kind of treatment there are two rubber bumpers that wrap around the main body and they do a great job of protecting it when you set your tool down.
After dozens of wheel removals the Sunex HD SX4360-6 has yet to fail me. If I do run into a stubborn nut then I have dedicated torque amplification tools I can reach for to break those nuts loose or twist the stud right off. Until then this little Sunex is my "go to" air tool. No doubt there are more powerful impact wrenches on the market but that extra oomph comes at a pretty hefty price. Pun intended.
In summary, if you want a seriously lightweight 1" impact wrench that gets the job done without abusing your body, then this is definitely the one for you.
