Who Picked These "Great Moments?"
Supposedly, audience members selected these "great moments," which may be the root of the problem right there. Can you imagine that they selected Placido Domingo's rendition of Nessun Dorma over Pavarotti's? He slaughters the high note at the end. If you do order this DVD, skip to Dame Joan Sutherland's "Lucia..." mad scene & Leontyne Price's "Aida" aria. The first will solidify why this Australian jewel was an operatic superstar, the second will leave you in tears, for its absolute sublime perfection.

Poignant But Lacking...
This movie, while uplifting & moving, never really peaks. There never seems to be anything about the character of Radio that endears us to him...no one specfic pinnacle act that lets us feel about him the way that the coach of the football team does. It seems as though Radio becomes a town fixture before we even know why. I understand that this is based upon a real human's life story...so...I guess that I should be greatful that Hollywood didn't make it more than it was. Would recommend a viewing.

Would Not Own Any Other Walking Shoe
Was directed to purchase this specific brand of shoe, some years ago, by a podiatrist. Had custom insoles created for them to correct plantar fasciitis. Have never purchase any other kind since then. I'm prone to shin splints as well. This shoe alleviates occurrences of that. Always look for sales on these shoes, as the regular retail price is much, MUCH higher than I want to pay for shoes, given that I am rough on them & find myself needing to replace them too often to incur the high expense. I don't walk correctly, so that don't wear well.
