Lightweight & Versatile
4 of 4 found this helpful Easily converted to 240 channel capability. The FCC pulled the ticket and ended production of this model due to the ease with which the frequency range can be modified. I recommend getting a higher performance antenna for increased range. If you choose, you can just stick with the provided antenna. No, you do not necessarily have to get a tuned antenna for it. Rubber duck antennas are pretty much just end fed dummy loads that leak, and are versatile for short range.
My 830 performs well. Get the mobile attachment for your 830 if you can, which is designated 832.
