difficult to properly install
Wonderful light, very thin and quite bright. It will fit just where I wanted it to go as soon as I can figure out how to install it to code.
The problem is that the converter must connect to 120 AC in a box, and while the converters pigtails are very short, the converter is small enough to fit in the box with the AC connection.
Sadly, that connection is likely some distance from where you want the lamp, and here is the real problem. The DC output pigtail is also very short, only 6 inches. That length is far to short to take advantage of the thinness of the lamp itself. So to sum I'm only rating this lamp at 3 stars because the converters pigtails are far too short for easy installation in most cases. But, If you are willing to ignore the rules for low voltage wiring, installation could be a snap.

Wonderful light with some very real install problems
1 of 2 found this helpful I love this light, but there are problems with installation. They are-
1) The converter must connect to 120 ac in a box. That's fine so far as it goes, because the converter and the connection can fit in the box, but darn it, you need more than 6 inches of dc cord to get to the light.
2) A low voltage connector cord of just 10 feet which solves the problem costs as much as the light.
3) the mounting method to the ceiling will not support the weight of ac wiring, box, and converter.
So, now I have ten of these and I just do not know what to do with them. For ease of installation and ultimate price, I recommend the led's that come pre-canned like those found in lowes or home depot for about $15 each.
