External or internal lock Style
These style of welded on lock mechinism, looking like a wart seem vulnerable to being knocked off by a large hammer.
It's ok as a simple deterrent but, I like the style where the lock is built into the hollow of the metal. There was one style on eBay I saw that was internal.
Just something to think about.

Victor rodent Sonic's are great
Victor Pest makes great rodent problems solved. This ultrasonic driven device wards off the creatures from even thinking to make access to the room. I have been using these for ten years at six remote cabins and hilltop radio sites. No rodent has settled in at any of them.
Make sure the device is unabstructed by any furniture or other solid that would deflect the sound wave. The 3speaker one will cover 500 sq.ft.
They have lasted about 5 years of 24 hours all year long use. Some are going on 6 years now. When red light stops flashing inside the speaker grill, there dead.
