I love this CD player
7 of 7 found this helpful I bought this to complement my 340A Cambridge amp. What can I say? The pairing is exquisite. No, it doesn't play mp3 CDs, but the operation is so smooth and satisfying, all operated from the same remote as it is. Readout is a little basic looking, a bit bright in the panel as opposed to the sleek electric blue of the LED channel select and power functions. Nice options to be able to see how much remains of your track or album in seconds. Definitely a quality piece of kit. A pleasure to operate, and aesthetically very pleasing with its matt silver finish.
Sound quality is excellent. There are certainly differences between CD players and in general, you get what you pay for. With this unit, the clarity is just so easy and present. It makes CD playback seem effortless. To the point that you forget that other CD players struggle so hard to deliver all of the sound onto your ears. Pairing with a decent amp and speakers essential.

Spoiled by...
I bought this album in order to flesh out my already significant awe for Mickey and the succession of material he has produced. It's all the familiar great stuff, but utterly marred by the inclusion of the two tracks from "Mystery Box". In short Mickey, they should have remained a mystery. They are Vocal, R&B cheesy, saccharine and entirely out of place. If you like to listen to Hart for the shamanic beats and interestingly coloured exotic atmospheres, prepare to program your CD player to skip tracks 2 & 3 as they are just awful and guaranteed to ruin any moment. A poor choice from the producers; no doubt why I was able to buy it on ebay for £1.50.
I think there is nothing to be gained for the Hart fan here. One would be better off buying the original albums. Buy "Mystery Box" only if you feel in need of aural punishment.
