Very good value on a multifunctional Bluray player
I bought one of these new in 2011 or so, and when it stopped working I got a replacement used one! It's a great value in a DVD / Bluray player and also has excellent sound for CDs, along with all the extras it offers like the ability to watch netflix etc. Because it's old tech at this point the "smart" aspects of the S580 are pretty clunky, but it's a cool add on. Also this player is very slim which is a big plus for fitting it into pretty much any little space in your entertainment system.

Very nice product, read tracking force before you buy
It’s a very good stylus and of good construction so I am not giving a negative rating but I just want to note the tracking force rating makes it unsuitable for the realistic LAB 440 turntable with R1000 EDT cartridge. I should have read the specs more carefully, but in this context it is not a good replacement for shure RS8T stylus.

Used MD player good for gentle, limited use.
I really like the design of the MZ-R700 and the look of it. And I love that all it needs is a single AA battery. The one I bought does play and record, BUT it has issues depending on which end is facing up scanning and playing discs. I read that this is because of some fault in the laser design that worsens over time. If you're just looking for something to play back old discs stationary on a desk or tabletop, this unit is fine. But be prepared that if you buy a used MD player it probably is not going to work perfectly even if listed as "tested and working". If you need one that works perfectly, pay the premium for a NOS never-used item and hope for the best.
