Great tablet!
4 of 4 found this helpful I wanted a drawing tablet for years and finally bought this beauty!
So, I read that a lot of people had problems with drivers for it, and I was a bit worried that I might get those troubles too. But turns out that there are no problems and those people just don't know a lot about computers.
To install it correctly, DO NOT plug it in as soon as you get it! (Even though it's tempting.). The very first thing you must do is install the drivers. This is not hard to do at all, and takes about 10 - 15 minutes. You get a CD for the drivers and you use that to install them. However, if you do not have a disc tray, which was the case for me, you can go to the Huion site, find this tablet and there are links for the drivers so you can download them. They have drivers for both Mac and Windows.
On to the actual tablet, I think it's great! This is my first tablet, and the only other tablet I can compare with is the Wacom Bamboo, which I get to use in school. This tablet is a lot more responsive than the Wacom tablet, besides that, you get way more drawing space for a lot less money. This tablet has 6 hotkeys that come pre-programmed, but you can if you wish, choose other functions for them. Besides the hotkeys, it comes with "hotcells", which are the numbers on top of the tablet. These function as hotkeys that you click with your pen, you can program these to do whatever you wish. The tablet is very lightweight for being the size it is, it's made of nice quality plastic and has rubber feer attached under it so you can put it on your desk securely. The buttons make a clicking noise when pressed, but I don't think it's a problem unless you really want a quiet tablet. It also has a very nice LED light that glows green in the shape of the brand's name, Huion.
I found the pen to be very comfortable. It is a rechargable pen so no need for a battery. This makes the pen lighter than the type with battery, which can be good or bad depending if you want a heavy or a light pen. This light pen feels just like an ordinary pen so it feels very natural to draw with. It has two buttons, which function just like right and left click on a computer mouse. The pen is made of smooth plastic and a rubber grip, making it very comfortable to draw with for long periods of time. When I received my tablet, the pen had to be charged, but I wanted to draw right away, luckily this wasn't a problem since you can charge the pen while using it. It took approximately one hour to charge the pen. The pen has a red light that glows when it indicates that the pen has not finished charging.
All in all, I don't really have anything negative to say about this tablet except that it smells very strong of plastic for a few days (even your hand smells plastic after holding the pen a while). But that is to be expected since it's a brand new product. I'm really amazed by the pressure sensitivity, the lightest flick of the pen creates a very slim line. You can also customize a lot of things when you have installed the drivers since it comes with a software for customization.
I haven't had any problems with this tablet and I'd gladly recommend it to anyone who has a passion for drawing and/or editing. Or playing Osu, for that matter!
