great value no compromise in quality
An older design and spec but no compromise in quality for such good value lens. Together with a 5D MK1 you can put a quality full frame kit together for £400 and include a large aperture 50mm lens.

Past glory and weaknesses
A far to heavy and clumsy to comfortable to use design, the FE was a far better Ballance in size, clarity of viewfinder and of course the old f5.6 indexing process is not required.
