3.5mm Jack to 2 x RCA Phono Stereo Audio Cable 3m Lead

Cheap cable. Surprisingly high resistance.

It works, but it has a surprisingly high resistance for such a short cable -- about 3.5 ohms -- which is about ten times that of similar cables. It's the same on all three connections, so it doesn't look like a manufacturing fault. Possibly they're just using an astonishingly small amount of copper.
