I cheaped out and regret it
2 of 2 found this helpful I saw the review that urged caution and said "you get what you pay for." At least I have a controller for when my nephew stops by and wants to play Castle Crashers or something else that requires more buttons than my iBuffalo SNES-styled gamepad.
Positives
-insanely cheap
-all buttons and sticks you would find on a PS or Xbox controller are here should you be a recently converted console peasant. Welcome to the PC-you-know-what.
-the controller is wired (yes if you care about response times that IS a positive) and the cable coming off of it is very long. You will not have any trouble plugging this into the back of your tower no matter what your setup is like and it may even be long enough to allow you to play from a comfier seat should you have a living room or home theater kind of deal going like me. This thing reaches the couch easy. Wish I had the actual length and may update with that info if I find the time and the required measuring tools.
-many games on Steam will auto detect it and adding it as an input on most emu's is fairly easy if you know how to use them.
Negatives
-insanely cheaply made
-the plastic feels very thin and feels like it would withstand maybe 1 or 2 good drops. Anything more and you should expect to see things flying off if it when it hits the floor/ground.
-the D-pad feels loose and giggly just as all the buttons feel loose and jiggle around. One again it does not feel well constructed.
-not a negative for me but I could see the issue of 6 face buttons versus the standard 4 (xyba or square circle...) and I could see some slip ups happening and wrong button presses if people go in and try to run all on instinct when using this.
So if you want a second dual stick controller to PC it's not the worst thing you could buy once you factor in the price. I myself had never had a SteelSeries product that didn't break on me so the mark of a "quality" brand name isn't always an indicator of a well made product. Just keep your expectations low and like I said, it makes a fine SECOND controller. I myself thought I could get my needs taken care of with this, and now it's collecting dust while I play with the Steam Controller I just picked up today.

The only hope for the steam controller
1 of 1 found this helpful This skin is a bit pricey but for me there is no way to use the Steam controller without it. The Steam controller is big bulky heavy, and they must have picked the most slick plastic they could find. It practically slides right out of your hands. Sadly, I may be returning my controller because the lack of a D-pad is unforgivable and the controller only seems to be recognized in Big Picture mode which I hate, but if I decide to keep it it's going to be because this grip skin saved the purchase for me and redeemed the Steam controller.
