Forget whatever you thought you knew about the conquest of America.
As ever with this insightful writer, he eschews the conventional wisdom and delves into original sources. With embarrassing accuracy, he dismisses most of the hitherto received sources and delivers a painful but compelling story. The history of the Aztecs, Incas and Noth american indians is exposed as the pack of lies that has been told to date, and he portrays a horrifying lack of any kind of sensibility in the invaders, while stressing the effects of European diseases as the main reasons for the success of the invaders. This is a must-read.

A fascinating glimpse of a secret past
Although this document would have benefitted from a slightly larger format, the reproduction is excellent and the content fascinating. Leafing through the very fine pages is both challenging and interesting. As a confirmed bibliophile, and a collector of old manuscripts, I look forward to many hours examining this lovely book.
