Asus is simply the best name in Motherboards for builders and overclockers!
2 of 2 found this helpful I go back into the late 90's with Asus as they were the company after Intel I chose to build computers with. I have been building computers for over 20 years and have chosen their x48, x58 over even the newer chipsets as they were built so well.
My first choice is the Striker II Extreme with its Nvidia 790i Ultra chipset which is simply unbeatable in its class for overclocking. I was actually looking for a x48 Intel Board when I ran across this newer p45 Intel board. I was delighted when I found out it runs my qx9775 best in series quad core lga 771 modded to fit the lga 775 series. All I can say is don't hesitate buying one of these as they approach the capabilities of the Striker II Extreme and overclock well! Thanks Asus for all the years of fun.....mike

Bottom line. Easy! EVGA Customer Service = Best. GTX 580 water cooled = Fun
1 of 1 found this helpful The EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX580 Hydro Copper 2 with its 3gb of onboard memory was the absolute best in its class. The 512 CUDA cores or 4ghz speed of this may not sound as impressive today as it did 2 years ago but when you add the fact it has a 512bit interface, is factory water cooled and fits in a single open pcie slot you have to respect it.
There is simply nothing to not like about this card. In its class it will overclock way better than any of the newer stock cards. In SLI it can still compete against most newer single cards while being more fun and running cooler. I have a set of EVGA GeForce GTX 570's 2ghz with $450 bucks invested and in SLI being water cooled I still compete with them and well. I have not finished my new 3rd generation Intel i7 extreme water cooled gamer yet but at $450 for 2 of these GTX 580's I will put them against anything LB for LB and $ for $ for sure. I consider myself an average consumer being able to afford maybe 1500 bucks to invest in new computer gear every 3 to 4 years tops. There is no point in building single graphic card units for me as I will always be driven to buy a second.
Bottom line is measure out the money spent for 1:Quality and durability of product. 2: Amount of money you can afford to spend without regrets and having to sell to survive later. And 3: What is going to make you the most satisfied for the part of building you do all this for. In other words some build just to build. They then sell, try to make a small profit only to build again and again. Some build for competition striving for the absolute fastest bench scores possible. And some simply build to have the best experience they can afford with new high end games. These guys are the ones that keep the 2 type in business!
I admit I am a thermal dynamics engineer so I am type 1 & 2. I use to be type 3 winning a few awards along the way. After time away from the scène raising a family I finally was driven back by a passion to build, test then sell the best in class gamers I could. Finally at 57 years young with 14 years in thermal engineering I am building one of these with the best parts I have worked with at the best price. The EVGA GeForce GTX 580 3gb Hydro copper 2 is a no brainer. I guarantee I wont be the fastest as Liquid Nitrogen is hard to game with :) However with all water cooling components and external pond cooler I have bought USED it will kick some serious boot'a and I will be happy as a dog rolling in the good stuff! Best part? I won't have to sell it later in order to buy Christmas presents for the grandkids :):):)

Compact yet powerful!
I am so impressed with this universal charger I chose to write this review so people would know of its value! I bought it as a universal for my computer Tech service and also use it for my Dv7t-7000 laptop. It is a third the size of the original and operates it fine.
If poundage in your laptop bag is an issue or bulk in having it out and plugged in then this is for you! It comes with 11 different connectors that won't work with every laptop but covers a few from each manufacturer. I have over 25 years in computer technology and this gets 2 thumbs up which I rarely give out to any item!
