Unreliable device
Cheap and nasty. Tried to turn a 300GB HDD that works perfectly but had been replaced by a SSD into a storage medium - the drive won't stay connected to the PC and locks up during read and write operations, or just disconnects after some time. I tried it on two machines in case it was a USB issue on my primary PC, but same result. Could be an issue with the supplied cable. Construction and screws poor quality. Will be looking for something better, after all why risk damaging the HDD which even if cheap is the more expensive component with this.

Excellent product
Excellent product - unlike other similar hard drive bays this has a physical on/off switch so you have total control over when to run the drive. Ideal if, like me, you've transitioned fully to SSD and just want to use your existing hard drive for back up or to move bulky data back and forth. The adapter is well made with a solid release mechanism. If switched on the led will glow blue, or red when the HDD is active. When switched off the led is also off. There are screws included for mounting the adapter to the 5.25" bay, and I advise using them all for a secure and vibration free environment for HDDs, especially if you want to run it most of the time. One thing to note - try to enable hot swap for the SATA socket that you use for this adapter - you can do this in the BIOS menu of most motherboards. Then you'll be able to use the "safely remove hardware" prompt within Windows if you want to safely power down the hard drive fitted inside the adapter when the PC is running, or swap with others.

Good, but not really great portable radio
The Azatom Multiplex II I received is a bit of a mixed bag. On the plus side, DAB reception is excellent, and Bluetooth has worked almost perfectly so far with just the odd little blip now and then, easily resolved. Unfortunately FM reception on mine is not very good at all, and is prone to interference from almost any nearby source. Battery life is pretty good, and seems to have improved with a few charge / discharge cycles. However, the charge indicator is not reliable, with it showing 2/3 bars and then suddenly dropping to zero. Sound quality is good - it's a little bass heavy by default so if you listen to classical or don't want to annoy the neighbours you may need to tinker with bass and treble settings, but that's easy enough. The display works well indoors where it has four brightness levels including as good a dim mode for night use as you can reasonably expect. Unfortunately, on a bright day outside, the display is useless, which is a shortcoming on a portable radio. Because you have to turn the volume wheel once before the volume menu comes up, it can be hard to make fine adjustments when you can't see the display, and also, as with many other cheap digital radios, there is not enough fine volume adjustment stepping at low volumes. The build quality is ok - my aerial is quite wobbly, but the overall finish is ok for the price. Overall I think the Azatom is just about worth the £60 I paid for it, but no more.
