Sennheiser HD 650 Audiophile / Studio Monitor Headband Headphones - HD650

HD650 - An outstanding headphone.
0 of 1 found this helpful It's comfortable and light. Clamp can be a little harsh at first. They are easy enough to run but don't really come to life unless they are used with an amp. This headphone scales really well with better gear. They sound sublime. Bass is all there when needed. Though they are not bass cannons. The mids are simply some of the best available at any price. The highs are great without a hint of being silibant. Over all they need to be in your collection.

HD800-Believe it!!!!
1 of 1 found this helpful The sound quality is superb the comfort is great and it's lightweight. One of the worlds best headphones and with its scalability with higher end equipment, it's a product that just keeps on giving. Pair this with a good Amp and Dac and it's sublime. Yes, it can be a little bright to those that are sensitive to treble, but mod it or pair it with a suitable Amp, SS or preferably a Tube Amp to add warmth and it will astound you.
Me I have paired it with a relatively affordable Matrix M-Stage HPA-3U Amp/Dac. This gives it plenty of power and a decent Dac. This unit helps with treble and gives the HD800 a fuller and ever so warmer sound. YMMV of course. To me its endgame, and I am not greedy. I am for now satisfied, as far as headphones go anyway (for the foreseeable future anyhow).
