Monopoly Meets D&D
My best description of this game would be a combination of Monopoly and Munchkin. It is a game of dice-rolling chance to move your player around the board, but you get to gather weapons, magic items and spells to help you. You have to fight monsters and try to beat your opponents to the middle of the board. However, the middle of the board is where the worst dangers are, so don't go there until you are ready. This unrevised 4th Edition is not compatible with any expansions from any of the other versions. I was easily able to make minor modifications to the cards and board to "update" the game to the Revised 4th Edition. I just used a different game's parts for the Fate tokens. You can get a list of the changes online. If you are just looking for a game geared toward fantasy-themed fun, without concern for the expensive expansions, then this version of Talisman will suit you just fine.
