Dual battery backup
1 of 1 found this helpful Just in case the NiMH rechargeable battery pack fails this is great backup insurance to keep the laser running. And in later years when the NiMH battery fails , which it most certainly will, you can use this D alkaline battery holder instead of buying a new NiMH pack. If you only use the laser for occasional and infrequent use you can put in 4 new alkaline batteries, remove them when done and use the partially spent batteries in flashlights where they will work just fine for awhile even after the laser won't run on them because of low charge.
