Pointed Tip Needs to be Ground Flat
Although the tap was ground for bottoming threads, the point was not ground flat as pictured, but has a center pointed end. I will grind the point flat, but a bottom tap should look as pictured.

Makes Working on Rifles so Much Easier
I should have bought one of these a long time ago. I was able to mount optics and bore sight 2 rifles in short order. The clamps that hold the butt of the stock could be a bit stiffer, but perhaps this will prevent damaging the stock by eliminating the chance of clamping with too much pressure.. As long as one uses some common sense I don't see issues with this.

Eliminates Sun Glare in the FOV
When the sun gets low in the evening, sun glare in the FOV can be a problem when shooting from my deer stands that have open shooting lanes facing the sun. This is often just as the deer start moving in the evening. I haven't tried it in a hunting situation yet, but I have tried looking through the scope towards the sun. As long as the scope is not pointing directly into the sun, glare in the FOV is virtually eliminated. One of the great feature is that the O.D. is the same as the objective lens so the Butler Creek lens caps still fit with the lens shade in place.
