Looks and operates as advertised!

It works, kinda...
I know it is old, but there are three things that bothered me about this item. 1. The S-video port was smashed in (like someone pushed too hard and destroyed the mechanism.) I can still use the AV ports though. 2. The viewfinder is monochrome... not color. (Not a huge deal, but I was hoping for color.) 3. There is no battery... has to be plugged in all the time. (Was hoping to give it to my kids after I finished using it. They could walk around and record w/o being stuck to an outlet.) All-in-all, It plays my old tapes which is why I got it and I can now convert them to digital.

The camera would have been really good if only you could take pictures at high ISO without banding....I had horizontal banding and lots of noise on pictures that were a little dark and even when the ISO wasn't set too high.
The second con is that the flash does a series of burst in low light setting which could be very annoying when in a place you don't want to attract too much attention....sometime it would do a series of about 10 burst 4 times in a row and it was very annoying especially for the ones in front of the camera. But if these things wouldn't happened, I would have kept the camera and be very satisfied with it....the menu was extremely easy to work with and it had awesome cool features.
