Smoky, citrusy, long-lasting
1 of 1 found this helpful Got this for a song, but it's a great value regardless of what you pay for it. The main notes I get are yuzu (citrusy) and incense smoke, and it lasts 6-8 hours on my skin which normally eats up fragrances. Definitely a little darker than the original L'eau d'Issey due to that smoky note. The ladies love it, it smells great, and you can wear it just about any time--I'd only avoid on a hot summer day.

A Different Kind of Gentleman
10 of 10 found this helpful In case you are unaware, this is NOT the original Givenchy Gentleman which released in the 70’s. This version (started in 2017) has a MUCH different profile, which gets a love/hate reaction. I’m squarely in the former camp.
The biggest notes I get are a beginning of pear and pineapple (fruity/soft), followed by iris and lavender (floral, kind of...tart?), followed by leather and a hint of vanilla and spice (aromatic). Not a projection monster, but it gives a nice bubble of scent for 4-6 hours. Spring and fall type weather, or indoors. Evening or morning.
This fragrance is not loud and boisterous, it is alluring and mature. A little sweet and floral at the start, but transitions to leather and vanilla smoothly to stay masculine. This isn’t a fragrance you wear to make a statement. It’s a fragrance you wear to emphasize that YOU are the statement. Love this stuff.
