A versatile model kit for all skill ranges...
1 of 1 found this helpful This is one nicest kits offered by Polar Lights. The kit is perfect for beginners all the way to advanced modelers. It is a snap together kit, but lends itself well for those modelers with more skill for things such as lighting, etc. I recommend using model glue and putty fillers to achieve a more durable build and a "finished" look. This kit allows the modeler to build one of three different versions of the iconic starship from Star Trek, the first TV pilot version, the second pilot version, and the final TV show production model. With the selection of parts and decals included in the kit, the sky is the limit. There will be left over parts after selecting a version to build, save those for kitbashing. I have built several of these kits and I've enjoyed every one of them.

A Star Trek modeler's must have kit!...
I bought and built the original issue of this kit, decades ago, AMT upgraded the kit with better mold tooling, details, parts and decals to allow the builder to build one of two versions of this iconic starship, the version seen on screen in Star Trek III, The Search for Spock, or Captain Sulu's version as seen in the original crew's last feature, Star Trek VI, The Undiscovered Country. If the builder should so choose, there is a supplemental decal set, sold separately by AMT, that completes the look of the ship with further hull details, like aztecing and hull markings. Get this kit while they are still issuing it! It's worth it and a joy to build.

Nice Little Model At A Nice Price
It's a great little display model for a species that was represented only once in Star Trek TOS and it fits well in my Eaglemoss TOS display section.
