A compelling overview

Irving Penn's photographs are great! I was trying to replace the "Moments Preserved" collection I used to own (long out of print) and found this newer volume - very satisfied with my find, it is a high-quality coffe table book worth owning.

Get started with O'Carolan

Good basic easy-to-read sheet music book from the good folks at Dave Mallinson productions. A good place to start with learning these tunes. I recommend making a recording of a tune you want to learn (play it slowly) and then try to learn the notes from playing along with the recording (playing by ear) Consulting with the printed dots only when you need to review any details.
